Creative Arts

Our choir sings for Sunday Services, seasonal outreach concerts and several special worship events through the year.  Its repertoire is varied, moving from classical performance pieces to praise and worship choruses and songs.

Wednesday Night Rehearsal

Under the direction of Pastor Laurey Berteig, the choir rehearses each week from 7:00-9:00 PM.  It is an action packed 2 hours that not only includes music preparation but also a time of teaching and prayer that draws the group together in care and community.

Sunday

The choir sings 2 selections in the sanctuary services at 9 AM and 10:45 AM every other week.

Outreach Events

The Chapel Choir presents three major concerts a year: “Let There Be Light” (Christmas), “The Messiah” (Easter) and Encore at the end of the season.

New members are received into the choir in August and January each year.  If you are interested in more information on how to be a part, please contact Lynn at lynnv@westminster.org.

Playing in the orchestra offers a unique opportunity to use your instrumental gifts and abilities in Sunday morning worship services, seasonal musical events and special worship evenings.  The musical experience of the players ranges from high school/college age students to seasoned musicians of many years.  If you play a stringed, wind or brass instrument and would like to play please consider joining the orchestra.  Instrumentalists are welcomed throughout the year depending on proficiency and need.  For more information on how to join, please click here.

The orchestra rehearses on Thursday evenings depending on the Sunday schedule.

Worship teams are used every Sunday for the services in the Sanctuary and the Community Life Center (CLC) and are chosen through a process of audition. They consist of singers and instrumentalists who are committed to leading our congregation into God’s presence. They are rotated with different combinations of voices and instruments to support the varied menu of services we provide.

We handle all audio and media needs for the Chapel:  providing sound, media, lights and platform design for the four services on Sunday mornings.  We also have tech needs for other ministries:  Alpha, Women’s, and Men’s, and others are required. Would you like to serve in Technical Arts?
