FAQ
- What kind of financial help do you give people?
- The majority of our financial help goes to meet basic needs – food, shelter and health care, including counseling.
- Is there anything else that you help with?
- Yes, on a case by case basis we will help with a variety of needs.
- How much will you give?
- Financial help is obviously limited. We strive to help people in a tough spot but we do not enable people with unhealthy fiscal behaviors. We have the right to decline help in any situation.
- How do I go about getting help from Benevolence?
- An application and a scheduled appointment with our benevolence counselor are required. If there are special circumstances, you may share that with the benevolence counselor at the time you meet. Email us to request an appointment. Download the Application for Financial Assistance
- How quickly can I get some money?
- Do not wait until the last minute. Westminster is able to provide help usually within two weeks.
- Do I have to be a member of, or attending Westminster Chapel, in order to get help?
- No, but priority is given to people attending the Chapel and to people within our local Eastside community.
- Do you make the check out to me?
- No. We will send checks to vendors for you with a copy of the invoice provided to us, i.e. landlords, utility companies, hospitals, etc.
