Each of our four modules (One Parent Plus Kids, Becoming a Love and Logic Single Parent, Core Communication, and Safe People/Boundaries) are offered to help you create an opportunity for personal growth and healing in your family. Dinner & childcare provided.

Wednesday Night Meeting Information:
Our program begins with dinner at 6:00 PM where a wonderful family style meal has been prepared for you.  You will have time to unwind and fellowship with new friends.

6:00–7:00 PM – Family Style Dinner, ($5 donation suggested for dinner/ $10 per family)
7:00–8:30 PM – Breakout educational classes for adults
Junior and Senior High students are invited to attend Westminster’s Youth Program
Childcare provided for Infants – Grade 6

Among Friends Consignment Sale (Annual)
Our consignment sale is a great opportunity to sell gently used, outgrown children’s clothes, books, toys, and equipment to a huge Eastside market. Proceeds provide scholarships for single-parent families. Brochure available upon request. For consignors, you can register online.

One Parent plus Kids
September 17 - November 19, 2008 (10 weeks)

All types of single parents, whether divorced, never married, widowed or abandoned can develop relational skills based upon scripture and extensive study of healthy family systems. Parents learn through lecture, workbook exercises and small groups. The children are taught in their own age-appropriate classes through Bible stories, art, crafts, drama, and games.

Single-Parent Family Christmas Dinner
December 6, 2008
A dress-up holiday dinner for the entire family with entertainment to brighten the season. Gingerbread houses for the children and Christmas cookies to take home.

Winter

Parenting with Love and Logic
January 7 – March 4, 2009 (8 weeks)
This is a highly acclaimed skill-building curriculum that allows parents to achieve immediate parenting results. Learn techniques that will help you set limits and your child become responsible for his/her own behavior. Children will be taught lessons on primary values; honesty, self-discipline, mercy, forgiveness, love, and respect. We will not be meeting February 18 as it is mid-winter break.

“Friend 2 Friend” Pampering Evening
Saturday, February 21, 6:00-8:00 PM

Join other single moms for an evening of dinner, dessert and pampering. Childcare is available upon request. Cost is $15, registration is required and space is limited.

Spring

Safe People/Boundaries
March 18 - May 20, 2009 (8 weeks)
Who is a safe person? How do we know? This study and video series by Drs. Henry Cloud and John Townsend helps us identify our blind spots and vulnerabilities and challenges us to understand why we can become prey to “unsafe” people. Boundaries - Do you have trouble saying “No” to other people? Do you frequently feel taken advantage of? Healthy relationships and sound living depend on maintaining smart personal boundaries. If you don’t know where to begin, these interactive sessions will make a life-changing difference. We will not be meeting April 8 for Spring Break.
End of Year Celebration
May 20, 2008
Join us as we celebrate the “Endless Possibilities” we found through out the year.  We will share a meal and entertainment together as we usher in the summer.

Core Communication
Summer (2 day seminar)
A one-of-a-kind communication skills and conflict resolution program. This class is one of the most effective tools for single parents to help overcome their sense of powerlessness in the face of family crisis, providing essential training for managing interpersonal conflicts and developing skills for healthy relationships. Children are taught essential talking and listening skills to assist them through their lifetime.
