What is MOMS?
The purpose of MOMS is to provide support and encouragement to mothers with young children. We seek to provide a warm and caring environment for moms to gather, share ideas, learn, make new friends, participate in a creative activity, and enjoy a great breakfast all while your children are cared for by our loving staff.
We welcome all mothers of young children. Different ethnic groups, denominations, neighbors, and all moms in nearby communities wanting to get connected with a great support team are invited to join us in sharing common needs and feelings. MOMS seeks to encourage mothers in the importance of their role while offering support for the challenges they face. By joining the MOMS group, you will connect with other mothers in the same phase of life to receive support and affirmation.
What does a MOMS meeting look like?
At each meeting, moms are offered a delicious hot breakfast and relaxing conversation. We also meet in table groups (a great way to get to know other moms just like you!). The intimate, safe, accepting atmosphere of these discussion groups are led by mothers themselves. Moms find out that they are NOT alone, that what they are doing DOES make a difference, and special friendships are often developed.
On the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays of the month, moms have the opportunity to listen to a speaker or create a craft. Our speakers deal with issues such as marriage, parenting, womanhood, family relationships and many other practical topics.
Mothers also have the opportunity to express their creativity by participating in a creative activity. Many women feel a great sense of accomplishment as they complete a project they would probably not have the time or energy to attempt at home. This time not only builds self-confidence, but is a lot of fun (even if you don’t consider yourself crafty).
On the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of the month, we offer a Bible Study. Our study this year is called “Discipleship in Motherhood.” This is an important time to develop a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and learn to rely on Him.
