DEAR WESTMINSTER FAMILY –

I hope 2019 is off to a good start for you and your family. The new year often brings an opportunity for us to reflect on our lives and resolve to make changes. For many this is tied to a desire to lose weight, exercise more, overcome bad habits, and things of this nature, but it should also cause us to reflect on our relationship with God and how we are living out our faith. How are we growing? What have we seen God do in our lives? What do we want Him to do in the future?

This coming Sunday is one of our quarterly Grow Sundays at Westminster. These weeks are designed to provide opportunities for us to evaluate our faith and commit to taking steps in God’s direction. This week we will be addressing the question “Who are you made to be?” by thinking about how we can grow healthier by developing a right view of God, self, others and the barriers that get in our way. Holly Pankratz, our Minister of Care and Equipping, will be speaking and helping us understand this from God’s point of view. We will also hear some power stories of God at work in the lives of some of our Westminster church family and will learn about some of the ministries we have that can aid in this process.

As you prepare for our time together in worship, let me encourage you to think through the following questions as you consider the unique ways in which God has designed you. Are you aware of your spiritual gifts and how are you using them? What types of things stir your heart and fill you with passion? Do you have special talents and abilities that you can use to bring God glory and impact others? How are you personally wired to navigate life? As you think about your past what experiences, both positive and negative, have you seen God use or could be used by Him in the future? We look forward to considering these things more deeply in our time together.

See you in church.

Pastor Matt
