DEAR WESTMINSTER FAMILY –
One of the saddest words in the English language is the word, “almost.” It’s a word that stirs feelings of frustration and failure. This is particularly true when it is used to describe issues related to our faith. Consider how the word appears in an interaction that the Apostle Paul had with the Jewish king Agrippa recorded in Acts 26:28. The Roman governor, Festus, invited the current Jewish king to hear Paul’s conversion experience and defense of the gospel. At the end of Paul’s presentation, Agrippa, made the following statement, “…..almost you have persuaded me to be a Christian.” (NKJV) As far as we know, Agrippa, never moved from “almost” to “all-in.”
On Sunday I am going to speak to what it means for us to be “all-in” in our relationship with God. Using the backdrop of my experience with believers in Ethiopia, I will attempt to clarify the “all-in” challenge of the Gospel and demonstrate how it should be expressed in our lives. I believe that this will be one of the most important messages that I have ever preached. I hope you will join us this week.
See you in church.
