Dear Westminster Family:
Jorie and I would like to thank all of you for a wonderful celebration of our 25 years at Westminster. We are well aware of what the Apostle Paul recognized as….”your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now”…..and it is our prayer that….”He who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.” (Philippians 1:5,6)
This Sunday we are privileged to have Dr. David Gill speaking in both of our morning services. His message will fit well with our on-going emphasis of “sharing our faith where we live.” He will encourage us to “Light a Candle” taking his message from Titus 2:11-13…
“For the grace of God has appeared that offers salvation to all people. It teaches us to say ‘no’ to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live
self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age, while we wait for the blessed hope—the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior,
Jesus Christ.”
I have known David for many years but he will be “new” to many of you. David provided a brief bio to help you get to know him.
“I recently retired after forty years as a professor of business ethics for MBA students and Christian Ethics for seminary students, most recently at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary in Boston. I am now back home in Oakland, California, writing books, hitting golf balls where they can’t be found, hanging out with my wife, kids, and grandkids, and serving as ‘Workplace Discipleship Coach’ at First Covenant Church in Oakland. This weekend I am on my way up to Regent College in Vancouver to co-teach a course on Technology & Christian Faith with my long-time collaborator and even longer time friend, Al Erisman.”
I look forward to hearing from David and I know God will use him to challenge us all.
Also this Sunday we will be participating in our annual Blood Drive.
