NOTES OF ENCOURAGEMENT

Thank you for being willing to spread hope and love with your Notes of Encouragement!

During these challenging times, we have the opportunity to come alongside several partner organizations in our community, in order to encourage them with words of hope and love.

FOUR OPPORTUNITIES TO SPREAD ENCOURAGEMENT:

Adults with Disabilities

Bridge Disability Ministries honors the God-given dignity of people living with disabilities. They build relationships among people of all abilities to alleviate isolation and enrich our churches and communities. The isolation caused by Covid-19 has been particularly difficult for the people served by this organization, on top of the daily challenges of their physical and/or developmental disabilities. Receiving a note would mean so very much!

Bellevue Fire Department

As you know, the COVID-19 pandemic has brought many challenges to the community, and to our Fire Department as well. They continue to respond to all emergency calls and have made adaptations to their protocols to ensure everyone’s safety. Their commitment to our community has never wavered, and we would love to send notes of encouragement and appreciation to these heroes in our community.

Foster Kids & Families

Olive Crest is a faith-based organization serving foster kids and families in our community. Because of COVID, these special kiddos are suffering from boredom, seclusion, and trauma triggers – and the caregivers are feeling an increased burden of caring for their foster kids’ special circumstances. Some are in high-risk medical situations as well.

Young Adults with Disabilities

The students of Young Life Capernaum live and function with various disabilities. This is an especially challenging time, as not only most of their community interaction has been stripped away, but also the activities and therapies they value so much. These wonderful and now isolated individuals would be over the moon to receive some love from you through the mail.

The words, prayers, and love that you share will make a difference in people’s lives! A few tips as you create:

  • Please keep your notes and letters general. You can open with “Dear friend,” or something to that effect.
  • You can include encouraging quotes, scripture, or just words of hope for someone who is likely feeling many of the same concerns that you are!
  • You can write many at a time, on anything from cards, to letters, to pictures. If you write more than one, you can bundle them all in the same envelope as they will be distributed among the people that the organization serves.
  • Please involve your whole family, if you can! You can draw pictures, send simple words of hope (“We love you!” “We are praying for you!”) or color a meaningful message from an online printable. Get creative! This is a great way to involve your children in caring for others.
  • Finally, share a picture of your Notes project on social media, such as Facebook or Instagram. Be sure to include #wcbellevue so we can share with others!
