Trust and Obey
Psalm 37
“It’s not what you believe that matters; it’s what you believe enough to do!”
We are God’s fingerprints. We are called to leave his definite and distinct imprints on our world.
How then shall we live? We need to “practice what we preach.”
I. We should not seek to build trust by doing what we know to be wrong. (Vs. 1,2)
A. Recognize the temptation.
B. Resist the temptation.
II. We should seek to build trust by doing what we know to be right. (Vs. 3-40)
A. Look to God. (Vs. 3-9)
1. Trust in the Lord.
2. Delight yourself in the Lord.
3. Commit your way to the Lord.
4. Be still before the Lord.
B. Remember the fate of the wicked. (Vs. 10-22)
C. Believe that God will bless His people. (Vs. 23-29)
D. Trust God to defend you. (Vs. 30-34)
E. Consider the evidence. (Vs. 35-40)
Conclusion: “Do this in remembrance of Me.”
