In Preschool, we are in Judges 4 this week as we continue in the Old Testament. Our story is about Deborah and Barak. We will use the Bible and the book, “Deborah and the very Big Battle” by Tim Thornborough to learn how God’s people, the Israelites had “stopped listening to God and ended up in a lot of trouble.” In the story of Deborah and Barak, “we will see how God rescued the Israelites when Deborah and Barak started listening, and how God helped them win a very big battle!” As you share this story with your children, help them to remember that “when God speaks, we must always listen carefully. We can always trust what God says because he loves us, and his words are always true.” This helps us do what God asks us to do! Click on the Preschool Link below and learn with your kids!
In Elementary, our story this week is about Paul preaching in Southeastern Europe, specifically Thessalonica and Athens. The men of Athens worshiped a false god whom they did not know. Paul explained to them that God is not like the Greek idols. Only God deserves our worship! As you share this story with your children, emphasize with them that God is not like other gods. God loves us so much and wants us to turn away from our sins. So, he sent Jesus, his son, to die for us and pay the penalty for our sins so we could have relationship with God. That is what makes Him different from other manmade gods. Oh, how God deserves our worship!
