We are concluding our unit about King David this week. The question for this unit is, “What is Grace?” We will see that “grace is when God gives us something good even when we do not deserve it”. Our memory verse for this unit is Ephesians 1:7-8, In him (Jesus) we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace that he richly poured out on us with all wisdom and understanding.Try memorizing the verse as a family!

Do you have Bible stories that you are nervous to talk about with your children? Our story this week may be one of those stories for you.

This week, we are looking at the story of David and Bathsheba in 2 Samuel 11-12. Our theme for this unit is GRACE or receiving good things from God that we don’t deserve. Last week, David received a covenant with God that does not end with David’s sin. Neither did God’s forgiveness. The story of David and Bathsheba shows us that sin hurts God’s heart and has consequences but does not remove His love for us. In fact, he loves us so much that He sent His OWN son, Jesus, to pay the price for our sins so we get to have an eternal relationship with God. That is Amazing Grace!
