We are starting a new unit on repentance this week. The question for this unit is, “What is repentance? Repentance is turning away from sin and turning to Jesus. Our memory verse for this unit is Acts 3:19, Therefore repent and turn back, so that your sins may be wiped out.” Try memorizing the verse as a family. (Preschoolers will use the same verse.)

Do you find it hard to say you are sorry? To whom is it hardest to admit you are wrong and ask for forgiveness? We are starting a new unit on repentance this week as we look at the life of King Joash. (2 Kings 12) Joash became king when he was 7 years old! Joash wanted to obey God. He honored God at first, but in time, his actions showed that there was still sin in his heart. Jesus wants to change our hearts. When we trust in Jesus as Lord and Savior, He gives us new hearts that want to live for His glory.
