We are starting a new unit on our importance to God this week. The question for this unit is, “What makes people special? People are special because we are made in God’s image, as male and female, to know Him. Our memory verse for this unit is Psalm 139:13, 14, ”For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. Try memorizing the verse as a family. (Preschoolers will memorize the bolded portion.)

What would you do for your enemy? This week, we are in the book of Jonah as we see God tell Jonah to go to his enemies and tell them to stop sinning. Jonah did not want to go. Did you know that Romans 5:10 says that we were enemies of God? God sent His own Son, Jesus, to go to His enemies and tell them to stop sinning. Unlike Jonah, Jesus wanted to obey God. He died on the cross to save us from sin.
