We are continuing our unit on our importance to God this week. The question for this unit is, “What makes people special? People are special because we are made in God’s image, as male and female, to know Him.“ Our memory verse for this unit is Psalm 139:13, 14, ”For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.” Try memorizing the verse as a family. (Preschoolers will memorize the bolded portion.)
When is it hard to trust that God cares for you? This week, our children will learn about Judah’s exile to Babylon (2 Chronicles 36). God allows King Nebuchadnezzar to destroy Jerusalem and His temple. When it seems like circumstances are out of control, we will see that God is always working in all times and seasons. And though we may wonder about His purposes, we can trust that they are always ultimately for His glory and our good, even when that is hard to understand or believe.
