We are starting our Christmas unit this week. The question for this unit is, “Why did Jesus come as a baby? Jesus came as a baby to live a perfect life so he could save us from our sins. (Preschool version). Our memory verse for this unit is John 3:16 (NIV), ”For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” Try memorizing the verse as a family.

This week, we are talking about Peace with God as we look at the story of Joseph and Mary. We will see that God sent Jesus to earth so that we can have a relationship with Him. Through Jesus we can know God and have peace!

Read Luke 1:26-38 and Matthew 1:18-25 as a family. Here are a few questions to start conversation as a family:

  • How would you feel if you were Mary or Joseph?
  • Why is Jesus’ earthly family important?
  • What about being Jesus’ earthly family would be hard? What might be easy?
  • What does the word PEACE mean? How can we ask God to give us peace?
  • How does Jesus give us peace with God?
