We are starting another short unit on some of the early responses to Jesus. We will learn that we are saved by faith in Jesus. The question for this unit is, How can we be saved? We are only saved through faith in Jesus.” Our memory verse for this unit is Hebrews 11:6 (NIV), “And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.” Try memorizing the verse as a family. (Preschoolers will memorize the bolded portion.)

This week, we are learning about how the people in Jesus’ hometown rejected what he said in Luke 4. We will learn that “Jesus read Isaiah’s words and announced that He is the promised Messiah. The people of Nazareth rejected Jesus because of their unbelief. God invites us to trust in His Son, Jesus. Jesus came into the world to rescue sinners. ” Even though some people rejected His message, Jesus kept sharing his Good News and we can too!
