We are continuing our unit on some of Jesus’ miracles and how they show that He is God. The question for this unit is, “Is Jesus God or a human? As the Son of God, Jesus is both fully God and fully human.” Our memory verse for this unit is John 1:18 (NIV), “No one has ever seen God, but the one and only Son, who is himself God and is in closest relationship with the Father, has made him known.” Try memorizing the verse as a family. (Preschoolers will memorize the bolded portion.)

This week, we are looking at how Jesus forgave and healed a paralyzed man and the reaction of the religious rulers in Matthew 9. We will learn that “the man who was paralyzed needed to be healed. Jesus did something even greater; Jesus forgave his sins, and then He healed the man. Because Jesus is God, He has the power and authority to heal and forgive. Jesus forgives everyone who trusts in Him.” We can “rejoice that He has met our greatest need.“
