Happy Father’s Day!

We are continuing our unit on some of Jesus’ miracles and how they show that He is God. The question for this unit is, “Is Jesus God or a human? As the Son of God, Jesus is both fully God and fully human.” Our memory verse for this unit is John 1:18 (NIV), “No one has ever seen God, but the one and only Son, who is himself God and is in closest relationship with the Father, has made him known.” Try memorizing the verse as a family. (Preschoolers will memorize the bolded portion.)

This week, we are looking at an another example of Jesus healing sickness as we look at two more stories in Matthew 9. We will learn that “by healing the woman and raising the little girl from the dead, Jesus showed His power as the Messiah. Jesus died on the cross and rose again to save people from sin and death. When we trust in Jesus, God forgives our sins and changes us to be more like His Son.” As we see Jesus heal people, we are reminded that “that God cares about the brokenness of this world. We can be confident that His promise to undo the curse of sin will be fulfilled.“
