We are continuing our unit on some of Jesus’ teachings and how they were about God and His Kingdom. The question for this unit is, What did Jesus teach when He was on earth? Jesus taught about God and His kingdom. He taught that all Scripture is about Him.” Our memory verse for this unit is 1 Chronicles 29:11 (NIV), “Yours, Lord, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the majesty and the splendor, for everything in heaven and earth is yours. Yours, Lord, is the kingdom; you are exalted as head over all.” Try memorizing the verse as a family. (Preschoolers will memorize the bolded portion.)

This week we are in Matthew 6 as we look at how a relationship with Jesus changes what we do – especially prayer, giving, and worry. We will see that “Jesus taught people what it means to follow Him. He taught how people should interact with God and others. Believers live to honor God—not to earn God’s favor but because they already have it.” Jesus does not simply teach us about the behaviors He calls us to, but through the Holy Spirit, He is the very One equipping us to live out of these behaviors. We can count on His help.
