We are starting a new unit on how some people rejected Jesus. The question for this unit is, “Why do people reject Jesus? People reject Jesus because all people are born with a sin nature and want to please themselves rather than obey God.”  Our memory verse for this unit is Isaiah 53:3 (NIV), “He was despised and rejected by mankind, a man of suffering, and familiar with pain. Like one from whom people hide their faces he was despised, and we held him in low esteem.”  Try memorizing the verse as a family. (Preschoolers will memorize the bolded portion.)

This week we are in Luke 13 as Jesus explains that not all will choose to follow him. We will see that “everyone is invited into the kingdom of God, but not everyone will enter. People are saved only by trusting in Jesus. Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Him.” Our prayer is that all would come to know Jesus as Lord and Savior.
