We are continuing our unit on how some people rejected Jesus. The question for this unit is, “Why do people reject Jesus? People reject Jesus because all people are born with a sin nature and want to please themselves rather than obey God.”  Our memory verse for this unit is Isaiah 53:3 (NIV), “He was despised and rejected by mankind, a man of suffering, and familiar with pain. Like one from whom people hide their faces he was despised, and we held him in low esteem.”  Try memorizing the verse as a family. (Preschoolers will memorize the bolded portion.)

This week we are in John 11 as Jesus raises Lazarus from the dead. Amazingly, not everyone was excited about this! We will see that “when Jesus raised Lazarus from the dead, He showed that He has power over death. Jesus said, “I am the resurrection and the life.” Jesus died on the cross for our sins and rose from the dead. He gives eternal life to those who trust in Him.” May we respond to Jesus by trusting in Him.
