We are starting a new unit on some of the warnings of Jesus as he prepared to go to the cross. The question for this unit is, “How is Jesus the perfect Prophet? God speaks to us through Jesus.” Our memory verse for this unit is Deuteronomy 18:15 (NIV), “The Lord your God will raise up for you a prophet like me from among you, from your fellow Israelites. You must listen to him.” Try memorizing the verse as a family. (Preschoolers will memorize the bolded portion.)
This week, we will be looking at how people welcomed Jesus as King when he rode into Jerusalem on a donkey. We will see that “Jesus came riding on a donkey, just as the prophet Zechariah said He would. (Zechariah 9:9) One day, Jesus will come back, riding on a white horse as King over everything.” Jesus made His way into Jerusalem to make a way for us to be with the Father for all eternity. This gives us even more reasons to welcome and worship Him as King in our lives!
