We are continuing our unit on some of the warnings of Jesus as he prepared to go to the cross. The question for this unit is, “How is Jesus the perfect Prophet? God speaks to us through Jesus.” Our memory verse for this unit is Deuteronomy 18:15 (NIV), “The Lord your God will raise up for you a prophet like me from among you, from your fellow Israelites. You must listen to him.” Try memorizing the verse as a family. (Preschoolers will memorize the bolded portion.)
This week, we will be looking at how Jesus rebuked the religious leaders for their unloving nature. We will see that “Jesus said that the greatest commandments are to love God and love others (Matt. 22:37-39) but the religious leaders loved themselves most of all. When we trust in Jesus, He makes us right with God and changes our hearts so we can love and obey Him.” Out of loving and obedient hearts, we will glorify God, not ourselves.
