We are continuing our Advent unit this Sunday. We are using the book, The Christmas Promise, to help us learn how God promised – centuries before the first Christmas – a unique forever rescuing King, how he kept that promise in the birth of his Son Jesus, and the joy it is for us today to liver under the loving rule of King Jesus.

This week, we will learn that God’s Word tells us that God promised to send a King who would rescue his people from sin. Jesus is that King. There is no limit to the lengths he will go to—he is the good Shepherd who lays down his life for his sheep. The good news is that Jesus transforms fear of judgment into joy and peace with God. A right response involves believing the good news about him, praising him for his rescue, and sharing the good news of who he is
