We are concluding our Advent unit this Sunday. We are using the book, The Christmas Promise, to help us learn how God promised – centuries before the first Christmas – a unique forever rescuing King, how he kept that promise in the birth of his Son Jesus, and the joy it is for us today to live under the loving rule of King Jesus.

This week, we will learn that God’s Word tells us that God promised to send a new type of king who would be for all types of people. Jesus is that King. There is no limit to the extent of his rule—he is the rescuing, forever King for people from every tribe, tongue and nation. The good news is that Jesus welcomes all sorts of people from all over the world into his kingdom. A right response is to accept that invitation by recognizing and worshipping him as our King.
