We are continuing our unit learning about our call to tell others about Jesus. During this unit, we are looking at how Peter told others about Jesus. The question for this unit is, “Why does God command Christians to tell others about Jesus? We tell others about Jesus so they will hear and believe in Him.”  Our memory verse for this unit is Romans 10:14 (NIV), “How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them?” Try memorizing the verse as a family. (Preschoolers will memorize the bolded portion.)

This week, we will be in Acts 4 as we learn about Peter’s decision to continue preaching when he was told to stop. We will see how Peter continued to preach about Jesus even when it was difficult. Not even the religious leaders could stop Jesus’ followers from sharing the good news about Jesus. When the church heard news of Peter and John’s time spent before the Sanhedrin, they responded the only way they knew how: altogether in prayer before God. The gospel is great news that we must share if we believe in Jesus Christ. We are invited to pray bold prayers and to ask for His Spirit to help us share the gospel with those who do not know Jesus.
