We are concluding our unit learning about our call to tell others about Jesus. During this unit, we are looking at how Peter told others about Jesus. The question for this unit is, “Why does God command Christians to tell others about Jesus? We tell others about Jesus so they will hear and believe in Him.”  Our memory verse for this unit is Romans 10:14 (NIV), “How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them?” Try memorizing the verse as a family. (Preschoolers will memorize the bolded portion.)

This week, we will be in Acts 4 and 5 as we learn about the generosity of the early church and how Ananias and Sapphira tried to appear generous. We will see how Peter confronted their sin. Ananias and Sapphira wanted to look generous, but they were greedy and chose to lie. The Holy Spirit changes our hearts to want to share with those in need. Jesus generously gave all He had so we can share in His riches and have forgiveness and eternal life. Through obedience to the Holy Spirit, we will remember the extravagance and sacrificial love of Christ and our hearts will be transformed to live on mission for Jesus.
