We are starting a new unit on what the church is. During this unit, we will be talking about how the church is all Christians everywhere, who gather together in their communities to worship and serve God. The question for this unit is, “What is the church? The church is all Christians everywhere, who gather together in their communities to worship and serve God.”  Our memory verse for this unit is 1 Corinthians 12:12 (NIV), “Just as a body, though one, has many parts, but all its many parts form one body, so it is with Christ.” Try memorizing the verse as a family. (Preschoolers will memorize the bolded portion.)

This week, we will be in Acts 9 as we learn about Peter healing people and this being a means for more people to know Jesus. We will see how “When the Holy Spirit gave Peter power to perform miracles, people saw what happened and believed in Jesus. These miracles remind us of Jesus’ miracles, which proved He is the Son of God who came to bring salvation to the world.” As part of the church, we can encourage each other to remember that we have hope in Christ, who is making all things new.
