We are starting a short unit on who can be a Christian. During this unit, we will be talking about how anyone who trusts in Jesus can be forgiven of their sins and be right with God. The question for this unit is, “Who can be saved? Anyone who trusts in Jesus can be forgiven of their sins and be right with God.”  Our memory verse for this unit is John 3:17 (NIV), “For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.” Try memorizing the verse as a family. (Preschoolers will memorize the bolded portion.)

This week, we will be in Acts 9 as we learn about Saul (Paul) becoming a Christian on the road to Damascus as he was going to persecute Christians. We will see that “Jesus appeared to Saul (Paul) and changed him inside and out. Jesus Christ came into the world to save sinners. (1 Timothy 1:15) Jesus called Saul, who was once an enemy to Christians, to spend the rest of his life telling people about the gospel and leading them to trust in Jesus.” God gave Saul a new purpose and He is able to do that for us today.
