Westminster,
Today marks the beginning of Lent. Growing up, I had no idea how meaningful this season can be. We didn’t observe Lent at my church. I have a lot of family members who are Catholic, and I thought it was something that Catholics observed and Protestants did not! Over the last 10 years, I’ve really come to appreciate this time on the Church calendar. That’s what Lent is – it’s a special time that the church observes on the forty days before Easter Sunday. Historically, followers of Jesus have spent this time preparing to celebrate the victory and hope that is ours because of Jesus’ resurrection from the dead as we fast, pray, and look for ways to be generous with our resources.
Grateful,
Ryan
