Westminster,
This week is so special to us as we follow Jesus. During Holy Week, we join the Church all over the world to celebrate the unstoppable love of God and remember the great hope that we have because of Christ’s death and resurrection. We take this week and reflect on two levels. First, we remember what this means for us personally. In His grace God loved us before we loved Him – and showed that love in the most unthinkable way. We are forgiven because of the costly work of Jesus on the cross and this means so very much to us. We pray, read the narrative of Jesus’ last days on earth and it fills us with joy, rest, and gratitude beyond compare.
On an equally important level, we remember what this means for us corporately. This year we’ll come together on both Good Friday and Easter Sunday to worship as a church family. Jesus purchased a people for His glory from every tribe, tongue, and nation. He broke down the walls that divide us and made us a people with great purpose. Not only do the events that we celebrate this week have great meaning to us personally, they also do for us as a church.
