Westminster,
As we’ve been looking at the different days of Holy Week in our current teaching series, I’ve taken time to reflect in a new way on all that Jesus experienced just before he went to the cross. This is my favorite week of every year, because the events that transpired thousands of years ago in and around Jerusalem changed not only the course of human history, but my life as well. I’ll never forget the day that the gospel made sense to me and I gave my life to Jesus – it probably wouldn’t surprise those who know me well, but as I write these words my eyes are filling with tears.
We have two services this week. The first is on Good Friday at 7pm, and I’m not just inviting you, but pleading with you to come. Let’s fill the sanctuary as we contemplate the death of Jesus in our place. Please don’t miss this service – if you aren’t able to join in person you can online. I have a second plea this year. Would you consider inviting someone to join you on Easter Sunday? We’re doing everything we can on our end to set the table for a great morning, trusting the Holy Spirit to work in powerful ways as we celebrate the hope of resurrection life. It’s NEVER too late to extend a gracious invitation. I am praying for you as you do so!
He is Risen!
